Pink declared it a celebration of women. Here's everything you need to know about the women at the American Music Awards.

The AMAs were held on Sunday. And while Pink rightly declared it a "celebration of women", women were missing from many award categories. Six women won an award. Three of those were in Favourite Female Artist categories. Nevertheless. Moana won best sound track so maybe we could say seven women won awards. Fifteen women in total were nominated. Fifteen categories had no women nominees - and that's omitting the male artist categories. The performances by women were of course outstanding. Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Alessia Cara, Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld and Skylar Grey took to the stage and wowed their fans. Diana Ross was honoured with a lifetime achievement award, and then the 73 year old partied up a storm with an incredible medley, dancing away with her grandchildren, and her daughter Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the evening. Christina Aguilera beautifully and skilfully paid homage to the 25th anniversary of Whitney Houston's smash hit movie The Bodyguard with another medley - the stand out song being I'm Every Woman. While it was a shame to see so few women nominated, the ladies still shone like the stars they are. Here is our full re-cap...
