UPDATED: Vera Blue's much anticipated music video to her dark, heavy single Private, featuring Sydney dancer Alex Warren. Out today!
Vera Blue dropped an explosive new video for her single Private today. Heavy, intense, emotional. Directed by British-Australian director Bryn Chainey and shot in a heritage-listed Camelot House in Camden (you may recognise it from Baz Lurhmann's Australia), the two and half minute spectacular also features the incredible talent of Sydney dancer Alex Warren. Director Bryn Chainey says of the film, 'We... wanted to find a way to visually bring together the gothic and modern textures of the song. The clip should be taken as a supernatural love story, in which a lovelorn spectre - Vera Blue - claims her lover and brings him to be with her on the Other Side. Sure, she leads him to his death but, as the chorus goes, “I just wanna make you feel good.”' Yep, dark indeed. A sign of things to come with her brand new album on the horizon, no doubt. Her much anticipated release is due out sometime this year, and we will keep you posted on a date.
Vera Blue is the project of Celia Pavey who first made waves on the Voice. Celia is currently in the States at SXSW ahead of her US tour.
There is no doubt Celia Pavey's project Vera Blue is becoming a familiar name around the traps, and a musical force in this country. Her voice featured on Illy's hooky triple platinum selling track Papercuts, and songs from her EP Hold have charted and been streamed countless times over. And today the artist from Forbes NSW has just released a brand new single called Private. It's heavier than her previous releases and super cool. Enjoy this brand new single, check out her US and Australian tour dates, and keep your eye on the ever evolving Vera Blue.
