Amy Shark had a great night a few years ago because her crush kept rubbing against her arm. That moment informed the lyrics of her double platinum song Adore which wowed Australians when it landed a number two spot on triple j's Hottest 100 back in January this year. From there, Amy released her ARIA nominated EP Night Thinker and has toured and toured and toured building her base here and abroad. Countless fans have amassed and waited with baited breath for the artist who pours her heart out with honest lyrics and sass to boot.

But it hasn't always been easy. Earlier this week, Apple Music released a video about Amy's rise where she earnestly recounts the many times where she performed to no one - not even friends would come. "We were begging you to come to shows.... man, where were you?"

Nevertheless. Tonight, Amy was invited to perform on The Late Late Show with James Corden which she absolutely nailed. And though she had a great night back with her lover all that time ago, it quickly became evident that night has been trumped by her time on the popular US show which she declared on social media to be, "the greatest night of my life." Amy has previously told Music Love that the best thing she ever did was "not care about the game", and it has proven to be a great strategy.

Amy Shark will be performing at this year's ARIA Awards and is up for six nominations including Album of the Year.
