It is our greatest pleasure to announce that Canadian sensation Feist is coming to Australia to tour her epic new album, Pleasure.
Feist is coming to Australia. This makes two announcements from two superb Canadian women in music in just under two weeks. This morning, we woke to the news that Leslie Feist - best known for her iPod ad accompanying banger 1,2,3,4 - is touring Australia and bringing us the songs of her freakishly good new album Pleasure.
While Feist is automatically associated with the light-hearted hooky single that famously brought her to Sesame St and saw her nominated for multiple Grammy and BRIT Awards, one deep dive into the albums she has created since that moment in 2007 demonstrates just how much stickability, grit, and musical sensibility this woman has. Her latest offering Pleasure is in short, very good.
With stripped back production that showcase guitars and a voice that sounds like she is singing right in your ear, Pleasure is topped with a whole bunch of cool factor. From thoughtful Dylan-esque tunes like A Man is not His Song (ugh - such a brilliant song) to I'll-take-you-on attitude filled tunes like Century (featuring the brilliant Britpop musician and frontman of English rick band Pulp Jarvis Cocker) make sure you have a listen today.
The celebrated Canadian artist will play Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Tuesday 28th November, Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Friday 1st December and the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on Sunday 3rd December.
